Just found these photos of the first ever dress I made! Vintage-inspired and, I am proud to say, completely unwearable, this is where it all began. I love the process of putting down your idea on paper and then seeing the garment come together in front of your eyes; this changed the way I looked at clothing forever. People don't just know what size and shape to cut the fabric, they measure and model it and they don't just guess how the pieces fit together, they research and practice. It suddenly struck me what a bunch of truly skilled people the textile industry is and so this was a turning point for myself. The dress is certainly not something I would wear or sell, it is something I will treasure as the moment I fell in love.
